Serenity’s Story

Site created on June 8, 2021

Serenity has been struggling with excruciating back pain for months this year, missing a heartbreaking amount of school and regular life. She had a cyst surgically removed in late May, but this gave only temporary relief. Finally, the doctors discovered that she had a mass near her sacrum, and pathology reports revealed a malignant tumor. Let's show the love to her and the von Gohren family by supporting them in any way we can: prayers, letters and cards, groceries, meals, gofund me, and more.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Emily von Gohren

The last 2 weeks have been pretty rough. 4 transfusions, delayed chemo, 3 ER visits. We are ready for a break. We are in the thick of it, but see the finish line. Radiation should finish on Oct. 20. Right before MEA weekend, so hopefully that gives us an opportunity for a restbit. Thanks for everyone's prayers and support. We feel them.
