The Final Goodbye 

It’s never goodbye it’s see you later. As I was driving to Luverne this morning for Serena’s celebration of life I couldn’t get over the beauty that has been created with all this fog and how it was so fitting for today. Serena was this happy, go lucky person who always tried to live life to the fullest and with all the snow this winter, it reminded me of the winters when dad would clear the yard. He would make these huge snow piles all over the yard that were just waiting for two little girls to get all bundled up and play on. Mom would bundle us up and outside we would go in these big old bulky snow suits, hats, mittens, and those stylish moon boots. We threw snowballs at each other, dug tunnels through the snow, and even made snow caves for us to sit in and protect us from the chill in the air. Most of all what I remember is our never ending love of making snow angels. Today as I celebrated Serena’s life I couldn’t but wonder what it would have been like to make just one more snow angel with her, climb up on the huge mountains of snow and throw snowballs at each other . What I do know is that all those winter days making snow angels and admiring the beauty of the angels wings made me realize that my little sister has found her angel wings and has set off into the arms of God and all the special people who have gone before her. They will be waiting and anticipating her arrival and take her into their arms while showing her the way to Gods kingdom. 

Today we mourned the loss of a daughter and sister. Our tears flowed and our hearts ached as we said our final goodbyes but we now know she will be up there waiting to embrace us in her arms one day. Rest in Peace Serena Sue because I will sure miss you. ❤️❤️
