Sign In to Show Your SupportToday is the last day of this journey. Tomorrow I begin a new adventure. I'm taking a day of rest & relaxation for two reasons:
I'm protecting my personal space, hanging out in my roomy bedroom, enjoying the luxury of clean sheets and fluffed pillows on a freshly-made bed. It's a day for binge watching old reruns. I took a long, hot shower this morning and started my pre-op liquid diet plan. My bag is packed and the room is set up for an easy recovery. There's a mini fridge stocked with 16 oz. bottles of water, tiny one-ounce cups of broth, and protein-packed Jell-O. There are ice bags at the ready and a full bin of ice in the freezer. My Magic Bullet is set up on the bathroom counter with protein powder, and sugar-free water flavors. Everything I won't need for awhile is put behind closed doors to keep things simple. I even have a stack of smaller clothes to wear as I lose weight.
I'll have to take another shower tonight and and third one tomorrow morning. It's pretty typical to require these showers with antibacterial soap to reduce the risk of infection. Brian and I will leave around 8:00 tomorrow morning for an 8:30 check-in at the hospital. Then it's the medical team's turn to work hard while I take a well-deserved nap.
