Scott’s Story

Site created on September 22, 2010

Scott was diagnosed with oral cancer several months ago. He had a long surgery to remove a tumor deep in his tongue and also an extensive surgery in his neck to check lymph nodes in the area.  All the results from the neck came back negative and things were looking good.

Then Scott developed a tumor in the opposite side of his neck that the surgery was done on.  After a couple more surgeries on that side of the neck, Scott was recovering well.  He was just about to start radiation treatments when it was discovered that a couple of small tumors had come back on the original side of the neck that they had operated on.

Scott had to have another surgery on that side of the neck to remove the tumors and recovered well.  He has now started chemotherapy and radiation treatments this week (Mon. Sept. 20th).

It has been a tough rollercoaster ride for Scott with these setbacks, but we are confident that the treatments Scott is receiving will be successful in keeping the cancer from coming back again.  Scott is a tough character and we believe he will have the strength to fight this and be back to his normal self soon.

Thanks for visiting,
Wayne (Scott's brother)
