Scott’s Story

Site created on December 30, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

Scott has been experiencing headaches and nausea which has escalated in the last two weeks. The initial diagnosis was gastritis and meds were prescribed. When the headaches continued to get worse, Scott went to the ER in Waconia on Wednesday (12/28) where they performed a MRI. The MRI revealed a mass in Scotts brain that is approximately 3.9cm (about 1”) in his fourth ventricle which was blocking the flow of his spinal fluid causing high levels of pressure in his brain.

Scott was transported to Abbott ICU that evening. He was checked into his room at 3am.

We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement. We will continue to provide updates. Thank you for visiting.

We are incredibly humbled and grateful for all of you!

Journal entry by Lily Mckown

Hi everyone!
It’s been a while since we have updated this page, we have been busy with appointments, therapies, and overall recovery. A big step was made as my dad got his G-J tube out yesterday!! This has been a long time coming and a BIG step forward. My dad has been able to eat a regular diet and has made miraculous improvements on his swallow. A true answer to prayer.

Recovery at home has been tough. He continues to have therapies 2-3 times a week. Our main focuses are vision and walking right now. He has been working with PT on his walking and balance as well has many home exercises to improve his vision. As he continues to work hard at these things we ask for continued prayers.
Prayers for
  • His vision/eyes to improve
  • His walking and balance
  • Continued strength and patience for my dad and the rest of the family.
We are forever grateful for the endless love and support you all shower my dad and family with.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
