Newest Update

Journal entry by Angie Johnson

Happy new year to all! A few things have happened since the last update.

Scott was diagnosed with prostate cancer in January of 2022. They could not treat it with surgery or radiation due to his surgical history from the rectal cancer in 2002, and he is too young for hormone therapy, so he had a cryoablation procedure in Rochester in August. So far, so good. They will watch his PSA in the coming years.

He was driving his wheelchair in October and a corner of his lap blanket slipped under his front wheel, jerked his right foot sideways and he broke both his lower leg bones. Normally they would surgically insert a pin, but due to his artificial knees they couldn't, so they just casted it and it should meet his needs in the long run.

Our first grandchild arrived in October!

Scott has seen very little change in his overall abilities this last year, but has no regression and has avoided COVID this entire journey.
