Journal entry by Scott Fidler —
Finally, some good news!
Scott had CT scans done today to see if the chemo is working, and while the changes are mild, the tumor and some of the affected lymph nodes are shrinking! WOOHOO!
I have no idea if this means he can have surgery or not. I'm guessing not, because the changes were so mild. But it's possible that eventually, he WILL be able to. If nothing else, maintenance chemo could give him more time. We don't know WHAT all of this means, but we're not going to overthink it. The oncologist will tell us more on Monday when Scott has his next round of chemo. All we know is, it's good news and fresh hope. We'll take it!!
Thank you for praying. Please continue to do so. It has been almost a month since my mom died and I wish I could call her and tell her the news. She would have been so thrilled. I know she knows, but my heart aches from not being able to hear her voice. I know what she would say, though, and that's comforting. She never stopped believing Scott would get a miracle.
I'll let you know what we find out on Monday.
