Sign In to Show Your SupportSookie had her scans and met with her doctor at UCLA yesterday. Her scans look good (phew). He said there is one spot to watch but he thinks it is just the thymus growing back and will watch it closely. The thymus appears to atrophy during the administration of chemotherapy and regrow during the recovery phase of chemotherapy in 90% of the patients studied. Thymic hyperplasia or rebound is a relatively common phenomenon occurring in 25% of patients. She goes back in 4 months for her next round of scans.
Sookie is getting ready for her first cheerleading competition this weekend! She sure is a champ and is excited for it.
