Happy Thanksgiving!
2 years ago this week was VERY different. My abnormal mammogram was 11-24-21. I can remember laying on the ultrasound table and hearing Dr.Guy say the markers and spots were “very suspicious” like yesterday. I had already been struggling emotionally and that was the blow to send me almost over the edge!
This Monday 11-20-23, I had my first Screening Mammogram, which is what most people get every year rather than the Diagnostic ones I have been getting. I won’t lie, I had a big wave of panic come over me on the first image she took. She explained that she wanted to get good scans because of my age and history, but it was quite uncomfortable!
I left the office in less than 15minutes, prepared to wait several weeks for results! To my surprise, less than 24 hours later, I got the good news!! “No suspicious abnormalities” and “Negative/Benign”!! A wonderful Thanksgiving blessing. Praise the Lord!!
On December 14th, I will have my first of 3 possible plastic surgeries. If healing does not go as smooth as we’d like, it will be the end, which is ok! Mom and I have met with Dr.Haque, the plastic surgeon, twice this fall, he has been incredibly patient with my questions. He has also calmed some of my fears after healing was such a challenge last time. My specific prayer is that he will be able to apply a wound vac for optimal healing! I am anxious about this surgery, but do a lot to not think about it!
I would appreciate your prayers for:
-Sub plans and school going smoothly for the 7days I’ll be away.
-Anxiety/Peace
-Steady healthy healing
As usual, I will have the best “nurse” around taking care of me, my mom! Thank you for your love, support and prayers! I will do my best to update after surgery!
