Journal entry by Sean Lucas —
Dear praying friends:
Thank you so much for praying for Sara and her recent surgery. We are so thankful for the way the Lord has intervened at every point along this process--all the way to her being discharged today from the hospital (a day early--we were told she set a record for recovery!).
Among the answers to prayer over the past two weeks:
Please do continue to pray for Sara. But also praise the Lord with us. This truly is a "But God" time and we rejoice in his goodness to us.
In the grip of God's grace,
Sean
Thank you so much for praying for Sara and her recent surgery. We are so thankful for the way the Lord has intervened at every point along this process--all the way to her being discharged today from the hospital (a day early--we were told she set a record for recovery!).
Among the answers to prayer over the past two weeks:
- Her blood work on Friday, March 9, was solid and put her in the chute for surgery.
- God put believers in her pathway all along the way--especially IPC church member Dr. Leah Hendricks, who is on a surgery fellowship at Moffitt presently and was part of Sara's care team.
- The 12.5 hour surgery on Wednesday, March 13 was successful--the surgeons only found the two spots we were aware of. While we await the final pathology for the two spots, we know that one was cancerous. We are prayerful that the other was not. The HIPEC portion was uneventful and we are prayerful that it was effective in killing any regnant cancer cells.
- The new Moffitt hospital was wonderful and the nursing care was excellent throughout, not only by the team but also by Sara's sister Becky.
- The pain management went extremely well and Sara was able to go home with basically Tylenol and Advil.
Please do continue to pray for Sara. But also praise the Lord with us. This truly is a "But God" time and we rejoice in his goodness to us.
In the grip of God's grace,
Sean
