Hi Everyone,

Thank you, as always for the amazing support system, prayers, meals, and pictures - you all lift my spirits every time I think about the wonderful people in my corner supporting me!

Good News first:  Bessie is GONE!  The pathology showed no viable (living) tumor left which means the Chemo and the integrative therapies I've been doing have been working.   As Becca mentioned in the post-surgery update, my appendix was enlarged, so he grabbed that too.  (Turns out it had a little tumor all it's own so it is a great thing he pulled that thing out!)

Recovery overall has been an upward trend with one hiccup in the form of a GI infection that landed me in the Cancer Care Clinic (super grateful for those nurses).  I needed a few liters of fluids over a couple of days and some antibiotics.  Feeling much better now and enjoying the bits of hair that have started growing back a bit...  It has been an interesting, emotional month.  I think I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop and guarding against being too excited.  As I get closer to the 'end', I'm feeling quite a bit more optimistic and ready to move into the next step in this journey.

The Doctor said the next steps are 3 more rounds of Chemo to make sure all the microscopic cancer cells are dead.  They will be 6/7, 6/27, and 8/2.    I know the next 3 rounds will be a challenge and I'm getting myself ready for the next 3 /4 months as best I can.

I'd love to have prayer requests if there are any I can pray for you all.  Pictures and texts would also be great if you are so inclined.

My friend Kristen has added a few more dates for meals for us.  I can't tell you how grateful I am for all of the delicious meals during this journey.  We really appreciate all the hard work that has gone into feeding us wonderful food while I'm down and out.

One last note I'd like to share:  I am ridiculously grateful to Becca for taking such good care of me when I couldn't go home after the surgery.  It took about a week before I was able to go home and she was so amazing doing everything she could for me (food, drink, blankets, moral support, everything).  Thank you, Becca!

Thank you so much for all the prayers and amazing support.  I am so grateful for you all!  Here's the meal train link in case you would like to bring a meal.   www.bit.ly/mealsforsarah
