Jesus’ word will never come back empty.

Just a few days ago I (Jordan) stood in front of our church to tell a small part of our story.  I linked it here so you could see that.  While I stood on stage I read a story of Jesus healing a man who had been unable to walk since birth and how Jesus forgave his sins and then told the man to get up and walk…

In the video you just watched I let the congregation know that I believe Jesus told me he was going to heal Sara through the CAR-T Cell therapy that she got 31 days ago.

Today we went to review Sara’s 30 day PET scan.  We had cautious optimism, as we were told the 30 day scan won’t show us a full picture of the work of healing being done on her body, but we could really expect to know more on the 90 day scan.

Well the results were not what we expected to see.

The PET Scan showed zero signs of cancer in Sara’s body!  

None!

According to the PET Scan her body is currently cancer free!

Her Oncologist said “This is time to celebrate.  This is the best news we could have at this point in the process!”

In case you missed our post about Sara getting the CAR-T Cell transplant you need to go back and read that one to really understand how God was moving in this story.  Its just wild.

So today we celebrate!

We got down on our knees as a family in the living room and thanked the Father for being so good to us.  I led us in prayer through thick tears of gratitude.

We don’t know what the future holds, no one does… but today our hearts are full of gratitude.

We made a cookie cake and settled in for a movie night.  

Mary Poppins seemed like the right choice.

So what’s next?

Sara will have blood work every 2 weeks.  Then in late June she will do a 90 day scan, She’ll have a 6 month, 12 month, 18 month and 24 month scan.

The doctor said if she is clear after the 24 month scan we can use the C word.

Cure.

95% of patients who are clear after 24 months post CAR-T Cell therapy do not relapse.

She also told us that 50% of people who have a good 30 day scan end up still clear at the 2 year mark.  

I’m not too worried about these percentages and numbers though.  In my book, Sara is cancer free and she’ll stay that way.

Prayer Requests:

1. Thank the Lord who heals with us.  This is a time to celebrate!  He is good in the hard times and the good.  We praise Him in the storms, and we celebrate with Him in the victories.
2. Pray for Sara’s energy to come back.  She still needs an afternoon nap nearly every day and the oncologist said that this is normal and to be expected.  She has been instructed to listen to her body and rest when needed.  The CAR-T Cells are hard at work!  We have some fun family trips coming up that we would love her to have the energy to be a full participant in.  
3. Pray for her immune system to bounce back.  She’s not supposed to be in large crowds until at least 90 days post CAR-T to help protect her immune system because her white blood cells are not in the normal range (as would be expected).  It could take up to a year for her immune system to be in the “normal range.”
