We have good news.
Yesterday's appointment and review of the scans showed the 8cm esophageal tumor decreased substantially.
It is now measuring only 2 cm.
Also.
The three spots on Sam's liver are gone.
As in, not appearing on scans and tests.
[insert a happy dance complete with praise hands]
This is an actual miracle and we are all praising Jesus for his lovingkindness and mercy in this health journey.
What a gracious God we serve!
What a blessing to lift weary souls!
What a beautiful way to ease the yoke of earthly burdens this week!
Thank you, Jesus.
So. What does this mean for next treatment steps.
There is a small area on the liver the oncology team wants to double check before committing to a new treatment plan. After the MRI (date to be determined) they will have all the information needed to begin. Pray this MRI comes back clear. This is the next biggest prayer. After that, they are hoping to continue Sam's previous treatment with the addition of targeted radiation. This new regimen will be pretty brutal on Sam's body -- but has the potential to be incredibly fruitful. We will provide more details on this following the MRI.
But for today.
THANK YOU.
Thank you to those of you that have been active and present in their lives.
Thank you to those of you that have never met Sam and Mel in person, yet are present in their lives through prayer.
Thank you to those of you that have sent cards and music and googly eyes and DoorDash and dinner.
Just.
Thank you.
