Journal entry by Kelbe Goupil

Sam here.
We met with the congenital cardiologist, Dr. Ephrem, on Wednesday, following an echocardiogram. The echo showed that the surgical repair is working well. It also showed that my aortic valve is now leaking. He and his team will be monitoring this going forward, as well as my heart rate and blood pressure which seem to have a mind of their own these last few weeks! Medications have been adjusted to try and get these numbers in line. Cardiac rehab starts today and continues into the summer.

It’s clear this is going to be a lifetime of monitoring and adjusting in many areas. There are still days when I am slowly shaking my head in disbelief at the new reality!

We are incredibly grateful for your prayer on our behalf in the past few months. We believe chose to extend my life for His purposes and glory! We are also humbled and thankful for the food, flowers, and cards with encouraging notes from so many people. These expressions of care have sustained us many times!

This will be the last official Caring Bridge update.
As the song (link below) says so well “I labor on, in weakness and rejoicing...yet not I but through Christ in me”. ❤️
