Journal entry by Sally Zimmerman —
Well tomorrow marks three weeks post surgery! I saw my cardiac surgeon on Tuesday … all looks good, took out last of stitches, and wished me a nice life!
Friday I saw my cardiology NP. Yesterday I hit a speed bump in the road and she assured me there will be days like that and to just roll with them. I was given referral for cardiac rehab so should start that in about two weeks. We have some minor med changes to make but other than that she too said have a nice life and follow up with cardiologist in early April.
She reiterated that cardiologist, emergency room doc, cardiovascular interventionalist, and cardiac surgeon were surprised by my need for surgery but all agreed it was route they needed to take. It is also their belief that my vasculitis played a role in this crisis along with my strong family history.
So everyone that’s a wrap! I’m on my road to recovery and thank you all again for prayers, cards, donations, and meals. It meant the world to us. Love, Jim and Sally
