Journal entry by Lou Sherfinski —
Ten days home, and Sally continues to amaze us all. She is continuing her therapies with vigor, and shows progress every day. We received confirmation last week that all her broken bones have healed, so she no longer has any restrictions on using her left side. Perhaps the toughest challenge we have now is getting her throat muscles working properly so that she doesn't accidentally aspirate food into her trachea. Pureed food and thickened liquids don't cut it! She is craving a taco and a diet coke!
The best part of her recovery is that except for that first 6 weeks following the fall, her memory is near perfect, and so are her conversational skills. The human body is incredible! Lou
