Family and friends mean the world to Sue. Thank you for visiting her CaringBridge site and showing your support during this time. In mid-December 2022, Sue was diagnosed with Uterine Serous Carcinoma, an endometrial cancer. She started chemotherapy on December 21 at UC Health in Denver, CO and is on her road to remission.

This site will be updated primarily by Jess and Liz, Sue's daughters. We will provide any news here as we learn more as well as updates on how Sue is doing in her day-to-day.  There are multiple "journal" entries on this site, with the most recent appearing at the top, so find the "Read More Journal Entries" button below to get caught up. If ever you would like to talk with either Jess or Liz to get more details, please don't hesitate to reach out directly to either one of us.

Even though updates will be given here, please feel free to continue reaching out to Sue with emails, texts, letters. Your love and support mean so much to her, especially now.

Love you all,
Jess & Liz

Newest Update

Journal entry by Liz Busse

Sue is now officially in remission!

She had another CT scan and more bloodwork last week which all came back looking great. The CT showed no signs of any cancer and her CA 125 blood marker was still very low at 11. Her oncologist gave her the news that this means she is now in remission.

The plan going forward is to check this blood marker every 3 months. It has proven to be a good indicator for her cancer and is much more sensitive than a CT scan.

As you can imagine, Sue and her family are all extremely happy and relieved with this news. Sue’s focus now is on treatments and physical therapy to help improve her neuropathy and balance, something the chemo really impacted. And, of course, enjoying life, time with family, the warm weather, and future travel!

Thank you to everyone here for all your support and love you’ve shown Sue. It certainly means a lot. I will continue posting here, but only for more significant updates, so if you want to ‘follow’ the site it should email you when a future post happens.

Much love,
Liz
