We met with Ryan’s new Nephrologist today. He took the time to educate us and stress the importance of managing Ryan’s health. Everything that we have been doing is good, but we caught his kidney failure after they were already in the end stage. With that being said, his doctor was amazed that Ryan was even sitting in front of him and strongly encouraged dialysis.
Dialysis will help Ryan’s body filter the toxins that the kidneys can’t anymore.
Dialysis will keep Ryan’s quality of life high.
Dialysis will prevent toxins from making Ryan too sick for a transplant.
We’ll be working with a surgeon soon to place his catheter into his belly to then start his at-home, Peritoneal Dialysis a few weeks after placement.
