Journal

sorry we have been lacking at the updates. Our lives in the hospital have kept us busy. Also, I needed a break from everyone and everything. But I have now reset and ready to be the best caregiver I can be. So here are a few updates the past week.

Day 0 1/24/2020
he got his new cells after Courtney harvested in the morning. It was just like every other blood transfusion he has had. But I was excited jumping up and down. Also the nurses brought him a cake to celebrate him on this day.

Day + 1-7

as exciting as I was the days beforehand. We decided to come up with a plan to get him up and motivated everyday. He gets up , mouthcare , breakfast, shower, walk.

Ryan’s goal is to get to 11 laps around the unit without stopping.

Lastly, Ryan has been posting on his support group on Facebook if you like to join here
its Ryan Boule Support Group.

Here is the post:

Day +8

Saturday morning update, it is officially day 8 and I’ve had the cells for over a week. As most of you may have read this week, all of my doctors and nurses are saying I’m in really good shape for a week after the transplant and that most Patients barely choke down an ensure while I’m having 3 solid meals each day.

On top of keeping my nutrition up, I am walking the ward at least daily and I am halfway to my goal of 11 laps (1/2 mile). I still have not lost my hair.

I am taking edibles to take the edge off of things and they have almost singlehandedly eliminated my nausea that was felt in the first few negative days receiving chemo and the first few positive days after the transplant.

The doctors have told me that these first few weeks are “boring” and will not have a lot of updates. Mostly I just sit in my bed and watch TV or game on my laptop while the docs change out medicines as they are needed.

Thank you to everyone who has been so helpful and let’s keep the prayers up. I am in great spirits and I will update everyone if anything changes.

Best regards,
Ryan C Boulé

Present day: 2/2/2020 Day +9

we watched the super bowl as I came back from a break at home with my friends and mom. Ryan decided we were going to shave his head since he started losing his hair in patches. I had the honors to help him.

Here are a few photos we have taken the last week.
