Ruth’s Story

Site created on June 4, 2021

I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma on June 1 after two abnormal mammograms, an ultrasound, and a biopsy. I will post updates as more is known about treatment. I appreciate your prayers.

Journal entry by Ruth Picker

It is four months since I last posted and one year since I graduated from breast cancer radiation.

I need to clarify that my surgery was not cancer related. I had extensive rectocelle, hysterectomy (to remove cyst filled ovaries that might pose further cancer threat) and other repairs that were affecting both elimination systems in dangerous ways. It has been the worst thing I have ever faced (and there have been a few) but I am finally making progress and living a pretty good life.

Through it all God has walked every step and made sure it is well with my soul whenever I don't interfere with his way.

Thank you for all your prayers and care.

This morning before I opened FB memories of radiation graduation,  I had put on my Blessed Beyond Measure shirt. Our minds are so amazing, working on things we don't know we know even when we can't remember why we walked from one room to the next.
