Journal

On Wednesday, September 5th I have a scheduled appointment with my oncologist Dr. Baweja to review the biopsy results and current treatment plan that I am on.  The biopsy was done on August 17th and I consider myself to be a patient person but I must admit I am looking forward to this appointment to see if the treatment plan that I am on is actually working to slow down the cancer growing on my spine.  My oncologist currently has me on Ibrance.  Ibrance is a prescription chemotherapy drug (pill form) that I take in combination with a daily hormone therapy drug Letrozole, its purpose together is to delay the progression of cancer.  I have been taking the combination together now for quite a few weeks.  The past couple weeks I must admit I am feeling some of the common side effects that go along hand-in-hand with taking the IBRANCE drug.   UGH!

*  Dizziness
*  Tiredness
*  Nose Bleeds
*  Weakness
*  Canker Sores in Mouth

I won't lie, the past days, weeks, months, even past year sometimes I felt like it was an uphill battle.  I face challenges like any other woman going through metastatic breast cancer.  But I want you to know I fight with every ounce of my being, question all of my doctors, and exhaustively research all options.  I try to trust myself to make the best decisions and embrace it with all my might.
