Journal entry by Melana Neutgens —
Mom got some really great news earlier this month! She had her 6 month echo and they found that her ejection fraction has improved significantly. When she was in SLC they estimated it was around 7%— not good. This new echo shows she is at 35-40%. Although that is still considered moderately reduced, it is a huge improvement from 7%.
Mom graduated from cardiac rehab a couple weeks ago, but continues to do the work at home. She sets a timer on her phone and walks all around the house (inside) several times/day, often walking up to 2 miles inside! Before our temps plummeted this week, she had also been walking “the loop” of our subdivision. She’s inspired dad, too, as he’s working up his inside miles, too!!
We just can’t thank everyone enough for your prayers for mom! They have worked and she still needs them! We continue to pray for her strength! She ordered hand weights this week and she will be ready to reel in a big halibut in Alaska this summer!
Love to all!
