Rosalia’s Story

Site created on April 22, 2021

Rosalia needs our prayers! Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. Rosalia has gone from playing with her friends last week to being put on life-support and the heart transplant list this week. No one knows why this has happened.  On Sunday Rosalia had gotten sick in the morning and then had complained about chest and back pain. Her Mom brought her to the hospital to get checked out, not expecting to hear that her 12 year old daughter had had a massive heart attack. She was MedEvac to the Children's hospital and is currently in the ICU. The next few days were lots of prayers with tests, blood work, and scans that have not brought any answers yet. Her heart could not seem to regulate and after 3 days she was put on life-support to try to give her body time to heal.  Rosalia is such a beautiful young lady. She loves to draw, ride her horse, play with her friends. She has 3 siblings that are waiting for her to come home. Please continue to PRAY for strength and healing! We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. There is a fundraising link listed under "Ways to Help" above. Thank you for your prayers!

Update From Mom's Facebook Blog-

Rosalia went back for another echo.  We didn't get the report we were hoping but it was not negative so we'll take ANY positive we can get!!!! Her function has went from 35-40%. We'll take that!!!!! She is on a at home monitor again. To check for arrhythmias. The "squeeze" of her heart is still just not there like they want tho......which they feel may be permanent from the damage. The real test is going to be wether or not she can function at her normal capacity and her heart be able to withstand it in its condition. So they are goona attempt to give this another 3 months, lift some of her restrictions, repeat an MRI, try to wean her off a few meds. So more waiting......and hoping and praying.
