Ronnie ‘Vegas’’s Story

Thank you friends and family for your thoughts and prayers.  This has been a very difficult time for Ron as he tries to wrap his head
around what is going on.  We are using CaringBridge to keep everyone updated in one place.  We understand that many are looking for ways to help and we will be organizing a meal train, more on that later.  In the meantime, we appreciate your prayers, support and words of encouragement.   Please respect Ron’s wishes and do not post or share this site on Facebook.   You may share via email or text.  

Ron was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer back in November.  The cancer has spread and now encapsulates his liver.  Ron began chemotherapy last Thursday and we are all hopeful that it will start to attack the cancerous cells in his liver.  

Ron is currently at UW Medical Center.  He has had many visitors but he is easily fatigued so we are asking people to limit visits to 15 minutes or less. 

 I will attempt to update this daily.   Today, Monday, is a good day.  Ron is alert and cracking jokes.  He naps often and seems very happy to wake up to his morning mocha. This morning three of four labs showed signs of improvement.

A toast for Ronnie Vegas

Please join me for a toast for Ron tomorrow at noon.  Ron passed at exactly noon last Saturday and due to the pandemic it will be awhile before we are able to celebrate his life with a formal memorial.  I propose that we toast him at noon (PDT) tomorrow.  One last “Nooner” for Vegas!  We love you Ronnie Vegas and we miss you so much.
