Journal entry by KC Dierenfield

Dear Friends,

Today marks four weeks from the passing of my sweet husband.  It is hard to believe I am living in this reality. I keep thinking he will be coming back.  I will be back to counseling this Monday, and once I get back into that routine, I can only imagine how I will be kicked in the gut with the reality that he is not coming home and his chair next to me at our office will be vacant.  He was my best friend, my counseling partner, my lover, my sweetheart and my babe.  We were together 24-7. I truly don't know how I will live without him besides knowing I am not alone.  I'm a widow...hard to wrap my mind around that.  Isaiah 54:5, "For your husband is your Maker, whose name is the Lord of hosts; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, who is called the God of all the earth, " has become a verse that is so precious to me.  I will quote what Ron said before he signed off on Marco Polo when they were ready to put him on the ventilator, "I am in good hands, because I am in God's hands."  I know I am in God's hands.

I realized that most of you were not able to come to Ron's Celebration Service.  I would love for you to view his Service with the link below.  The Lord spoke to me over and over again that Thursday morning before the Service started, "This will be a Service like no other."  It surely was. This video of the service is priceless to me as I will be watching it over and over again.   November 3 was Ron's 71st birthday. My Soul Care Sista, Joyce Bilodeau (who spent the night with me last night...a slumber party we had) said, "Ron is celebrating his first heavenly birthday!"  How sweet.  My family and my Soul Care Sistas (support group I formed back in 2011 when Ron had many threatening health scares} came over to spend the afternoon with me on Nov 3, and my whole family were there in the evening. I've been well taken care of.

I've decided to use this Caring Bridge sight to journal my thoughts through my grief.  You're welcome to follow me. Please note, I am making a Memorial book with all of the updates and comments on CaringBridge and also memorabilia that is special to me such as my talk and my three son's talks at the Service.

Thank you for your love, support and prayers.  Please pass this onto others if you think they would like to follow me, because right now the only ones who will receive this are the followers on CaringBridge, not those who just visit.

To God be the glory!
