Journal

It has been far too long  since we have done an update, no news is good news, right!

Honestly, there hasn't been a whole lot new too report, until today.  Dad has been doing chemo 1x/week for three weeks, has a week off, then starts again.  His first 3-4 days after chemo are spent mostly sleeping.  By day 5-7 he's up to going for a drive or tinkering in his trapping shed.  He was pretty proud of the trapping season and even had time to teach Corbin a thing or two on trapping.  We are beyond grateful for the good days that he has had and that he crushed his 6months-1 year time line that we where told when we started all of this.  We will keep hoping and praying that he will crush many of the other odds he's up against.

Today dad met with his oncologist to go over his CT scan.  Unfortunately, it revealed that the mass in  one of his lymph node is growing and pushing on his right bronchus and his pulmonary artery.  We have all noticed he is coughing ALL the time.  We knew something was changing and sure enough it had.   New plan of attack is to stop chemo for the time being and start radiation to this targeted area in hopes to shrink the size of the mass.

It honestly feels like we have all been holding our breath anticipating what will be the next "thing" in this journey.  We hope its a minor bump in the road and we pray that the radiation won't affect his ability to eat.  The targeted area will be close to his esophagus....they better be a good aim!  All joking aside, prayers for the days ahead are always much appreciated.

We are thankful for the continued support and prayers.  Mom and dad are surround by great family, neighbors, and friends.   We know we are not the only family going through this ugly journey with cancer, please know we keep you and your families in our thoughts and prayers as well!  Its awful stuff that no-one should have to go through alone!

We will keep you posted..........❤️Kelly
