Newest Update

Journal entry by Katelyn Pundsack

One month update:

It has officially been one month since Rome had surgery and he is doing amazing. He has stopped sweating at night and is eating better.  He is still dealing with night terrors and has very restless nights. The nurse said it was common for babies to have PTSD after surgery.  Steve and I switch back and forth each night so that we get some sleep.

I also wanted to thank everyone for your wonderful support and gifts during the last month. We are so happy to see so much kindness from friends, co-workers, and family.

What has this been like?

- Rome was home in time for his first Christmas 🎄.  He loved all the wrapping paper and the toys he received.

- He taught himself to lower his body, instead of plopping to the ground after he stands.  When he fell it caused pain.

- His scar is healing up nicely.

- His pain is minimal, the past week.

- Clara is trying to teach him the piano.

- He took his first steps just yesterday 😀.

- He still has one more month of not picking him up under the arms, holding his while walking, and he has to wait on tubbies. We keep him away from the bathroom because this boy loves his tubbies.

- He will have a sedative Echo in May to check how everything looks.

Thank again everyone for your love and support!
