We went to the appointment today, and I thought we were going to be going to the new children's cardiac wing. Until this morning I had assumed since it was open that everything had been moved over. So I really thought that it would be less painful to go there. I was interested to see the new place and so I had very little anxiety about walking into the appointment all things considered.  Also we had become quite acquainted with many nurses and doctors there, and I was looking forward to seeing them again.  However, it turns out that clinical outpatient appointments are still in the old wing until next month. When I found this out, I decided that Roman should walk into his appointment.  I carried him in my hip seat until we got up to the 9th floor and then I put them on the ground and held his hand as he triumphantly walked (or if you know Roman, "squeaked") in to the old cardiac wing.  The same place that just under a year ago he couldn't walk into, but had to be carried.  It was great!

The doctor is not sure what is trying to come out, but he thinks that we should let his body do what it's supposed to do and push it up, kind of like a splinter.  He said he could operate and take it out with light sedation, but he prefers to be cautious at this point.  Brian and I wholeheartedly agree.  So as long as there are no signs of infection we are just going to watch and let it come out.  The surgeon did not think that they are sutures, but he does not know what it is.  I guess we'll find out someday.

We left at the same time as his surgeon and the nurse practitioner, so we walked to the elevator and rode the elevator together. Roman walked all the way to the elevator and all the way to the car which is no small feat for someone with such small feet. 😊 (He wears a size 3 toddler!) I couldn't be prouder of my little boy.

Sorry for the long post to say a rather uneventful and simple update, but I'm so happy for the wait and see instructions!  Thank you for your prayers and messages!

Jesus, I trust in You.
