Good Sunday morning! Early church was on the agenda today until I realized we lost an hour of sleep so late church it is. We have been home for 2 months now - and life is good. Roger is getting stronger all of the time - I am finding myself anxious for him to be a little more independent, yet when he is using the walker I find myself pretty close to his side, but is it ever great to see him standing and walking with the walker. We took our first trip since his stroke, flying to Arizona to spend some
time at Kris and Keith’s with Karen and Steve. What a wonderful trip that gave both of us a sense of normalcy. The warm sun didn’t hurt either!
We are so grateful for you and your prayers - it’s a beautiful thing to experience the changes in Rog over time…baby steps. We came home from
Arizona with a piece of art we had seen in Charleston. It’s a ‘Sankofa’ bird whose head is turned toward an egg on his back. It represents that in order to understand our present and future we must know our past. Those wise words were spoken to me by our neurologist in the ER - he told me numerous times to keep looking back to where Roger was, then look forward. Life is so full of lessons!!
