It’s been some time since we last posted, thankfully because things haven’t changed dramatically. Dad continues his treatments every 4-6 weeks depending upon his bloodwork. The numbers fluctuate and sometimes he has to hold off treatment waiting for the numbers to bounce back.
He’s been feeling pretty good this summer with only a few bumps in the road. Since he was experiencing some abdominal discomfort, some tests were performed. We’re thankful that nothing major showed up. The doctors are just keeping an eye on it, along with the kidney tumor - which actually shrunk a small amount.
Infusions are still being done in Bloomington, appointments with Dr. Liu are in Peoria, and they’re able to do phone consultations with Dr. Larson in Chicago.
Once again, we thank you for your care and concern for them. As we have found your prayers to be so helpful in carrying us along, we think of the many (of all ages) who are also struggling with cancers and other illnesses. This brings to mind the last line of one of Dad’s favorite songs:
“Pray, pray till faith grows strong,
And in your heart rings heaven’s song;
Till self shall die in pure desire,
And every thought to Him aspire.
Pray, pray though your eyes grow dim,
Go with your troubles straight to Him;
Pray, pray, for God understands;
Have faith, leaving all in His dear hands.”
