Journal entry by Nicole Zigray —
We are loving being home. Robert is making progress every day and is doing so well. We saw a new pediatrician yesterday who says he looks great considering all he went through! He isn’t needing his inhaler quite as often and is getting tons of good rest. We started him on a reflux med because he is spitting up quite and bit and uncomfortable with it. Other than that, he is back to his goofy, active self. At some point during this he has learned to use his voice and is constantly trying to roll from his back to his front. Last night he was playing with Steven and had his first real belly laughs. I cried happy tears seeing our precious baby so happy. Looking at the future, we will have to be careful to not expose him to any other viruses, especially this season. We will also take him back to Denver for a swallow study if he is still showing signs of aspirating in a couple weeks. I have no words to describe how grateful we are that our baby has made such an amazing recovery, and thank God for helping him through this.
