Journal entry by Rachel Thomas —
One year ago today… one year ago our lives changed. One year ago today Robert tested positive for Covid-19.
And so begins the year markers of the stages of his illness. Soon it will be a year ago he was hospitalized, soon it will be a year ago he was put on the ventilator, soon it will be a year ago when one doctor told me there were slim chances he’d recover.
So much to process.
But now we can celebrate the year markers of his recovery! Soon it will be a year ago he was taken off the ventilator, soon it will be a year ago when he was taken out of ICU, soon it will be the year ago he came home! We can celebrate that he is still with us, he’s recovered to where he can enjoy life, go hunting and fishing and he can spend time with loved ones. He can even continue annoying the crap out of me 😂
If you’ve stuck with me through my ramblings, I just want to thank you to everyone who supported us through this scary journey. With your thoughts, prayers, gifts, cards, calls, texts, and messages, I sincerely appreciate every one of you!
