Newest Update

Journal entry by Sherry Kinkopf

Dear Friends and Family,

I am updating with good news.  You may remember that about three weeks ago dad was so fatigued that we had to help him a good bit and spend the night.  Deanna consulted with Dr. Hrom and he ordered more blood work.  It turns out that the Keytruda, with all the good it is doing to shrink the tumors, can also attack good systems while it rebuilds the immune system.  In short, Dad's adrenal function was way too low!  Dr. Hrom added steroids to see if the additional boost would help.  In the last three weeks, we are happy to report that Dad has improved steadily.  His strength and energy are improving, and we no longer have to spend the night (haven't in over two weeks).  He's up and walking around without assistance of a walker and he's even working more and going to bridge some.  While he is still tired and not 100%, he is so much better and we are thrilled.  Dad likes it when we don't hover, so we have let him be for a couple of weeks now.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers for returned energy and stamina.  I'll update again in a few weeks.

Much love to you all,

Sherry
