Robert’s Story

Site created on July 7, 2021

Hello family and friends. His journey started on June 29,2021.  Robert, who knows exactly how and when yo speak started having trouble coming up with words. He could walk, eat, shower, dress and take the trash out, but had difficulty answering questions or asking quest. He really did not want to go into the hospital. The next day he was worse with his speech do there we went. They worked him up as far as testing etc like a stroke victim. The hospital, SE HEALTH in Dothan did a CAT scan and MRI. He had a brain mass in the L frontal lobe of the brain. No stroke. He was started on meds snd admitted to the hospital. The following Friday, 7/2, they removed 95% of the primary tumor which was the size of a large plum. The last piece was too close to a very sensitive place in the brain so it could not be removed. Now comes the wait for the biopsy results. Today we start our journey at a new city. The oncologist does not treat this type of Ca here so we will go to UAB in Birmingham or Emory in Atlanta. His preliminary diagnosis is CNS (Central nervous system) lymphoma.  What we know about this, you could fit on the head of a pin. I am learning. I would ask that you each keep your reading and investigation to yourself regarding any info you read on it. We want positive and encouraging words. That is what my Lord asks me to focus on. I had retired with intentions of starting a new job next month when I find it. So I am able to go and be with him wherever God takes us. Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
