Journal entry by Kate Bryan —
We got some really good news! We have continued to drain moms lung every other day but the amounts we have been getting off have been decreasing. They are staying fairly consistent around 200. This is fantastic compared to the 800-900s when we first started doing this. We contacted the doctor and we only have to drain on Mondays and Thursdays now!!! This might not sound like much but let me assure you this is a happy dance moment! God is good and mom is taking all the strength you are praying for and she is fighting.
Over this last month she has lost some more weight and had some bad days. We think we had some kind of virus that we all decided to share. There were some scary moments as we didn’t know how her body would really respond but her bloodwork stayed fairly stable and she did what she could by resting and getting as many fluids as she could. She ended up doing ok.
We also had a day where she got pretty cold and that made her whole body hurt, her sick to her stomach, her balance was off, she was fairly weak and exhausted. We have been blessed with warm weather and have forgotten how much her cold agglutitin has an impact on her health. We are back to dressing her in layers, having blankets everywhere and keeping her inside when we can. Hopefully one day she won’t have to deal with this but until then we will do our best.
Overall, she has had good times and has been busy making memories. Thank you for continued prayers and all of the love and support you continue to provide.
