Riley’s Story

Site created on June 21, 2021

Thank you for visiting Riley’s CaringBridge site.

On Monday, June 21, 2021, Riley was working at a job site roofing. He took a fall off the roof and landed on concrete. His co-workers called 911 immediately and soon after, Fire, Rescue, Ambulance, Sheriffs Office and Air Care were assisting. Riley arrived at St. Mary’s ER within minutes of Air Care leaving the job site.

Once Riley arrived at the ER, he began going through all the scans and the team of ER doctors began to evaluate him and consult on what the next steps would be. Riley was in a tremendous amount of pain so keeping up on pain meds and trying to figure out what worked best was difficult. Erin, Terry, Jason, and Jill were all there with him to comfort him and support him while the team worked furiously to get a plan.

Riley received a large laceration above his left eyebrow, 2 broken orbital bones (one above and one below his left eye), both wrists are broken, both arms are broken, and a completely shattered knee cap on his right leg.  We are so very lucky that Riley had no other internal bleeding or any other life-threatening injuries.
