Riley’s Story

Site created on April 8, 2020

After a weekend of family beach fun in Florida, our beloved Riley expressed he was not feeling well, and was ultimately admitted to the hospital on 4.6.2020 with Pancreatitis. After admission, things changed quickly. He was admitted into ICU on 4.8.2020, and was put on life support to give his body the opportunity to rest and re calibrate.  We hope for a speedy recovery, but your prayers, thoughts and strength are needed. Please check back here for updates.

Journal entry by Laura Brost

It’s been a world-wind couple of days! Riley is doing great and improving quickly. He was up and about on Friday, able to take walks and move about. Friday the nose tube and oxygen monitor tube were both removed, allowing him to be much more mobile. He’s been on a regular diet since Saturday afternoon and able to manage the pain on oral medication since that time as well.

We are pleasantly surprised that he is healing quickly.

Currently, we’re sitting in his hospital room watching Phil kick butt at Kiawah and awaiting discharge!
