Newest Update

Journal entry by Katie Jensen

Hi Friends & Family,

We wanted to send out a quick update as Rick had his 3 month appointment with his care team this week. Since we switched to monthly labs the anticipation was a little heavy this time. Rick feels good but after getting back to some normalcy he is reminded he still lives with this, and we don't know the status of his cancer is until these visits. So, last week his labs were drawn and they do the BCR-ABL analysis. All of his traditional blood work came back within normal limits, even his white blood cells! This was a huge relief. His oncologis said his treatment (via TKI) is working as it should, he is at where he should be through 6 months! We have an overachiever on our hands! Today as a precaution he had an ultrasound on his spleen because it was enlarged before. It has decreased in size and all organs around the area look good, too. We can breathe a bit easier today. He will stay on the current plan, with lab draws monthly and if all looks good will meet with his primary oncologist in August. We will continue praying that the treatment will work through these next months and to his next visit.

Thanks again to everyone for their continued prayers, support, and understanding as we navigate through this journey. We truly appreciate it!
