Hello
The last 24hrs have been such a blur of emotions. They admitted Rich to oncology in the early morning hours on Father’s Day to try to get him hydrated and get his pain controlled which proved to be almost impossible. He had an obscene amount of pain that could only be dampened by continuous high dose Morphine which caused him to be sedated. Before he was sedated he was adamant he would not sign up for the second round of chemo however in reality his body was so ravaged by this horrible disease he probably wouldn’t have gotten it and the tumors were growing instead of shrinking. He was able to talk to each of our kids and my dad individually and told them how much he loved them and how very proud of them. He told my dad how special he was to him and how much he loved him as well. He was able to meet Sis’s boyfriend Timm and gave his approval. Of course we had our time together and he gave me a list of things and people he wanted to thank and acknowledge and how to use the mower among other tasks. He then became quite sedated and was able to sleep. His pain was never completely gone but he was more comfortable. At 1020 pm on Sunday June 21st.. Father’s Day and one day short of of his 62nd birthday Rich passed away with a little Jerry Jeff Walker playing in the back ground and all of us surrounding him. We are still in disbelief that he played a great game of golf less than a week earlier and now he is gone. He endured so much pain and suffering as well as 3 rounds of chemotherapy and several abdominal surgeries. He fought a got fight. We will miss him every day. Thank you everyone for your love and support.. Love K
