We are now just over 2 years from Rich’s SCT (+739 😜)
A couple of sweet ladies at Rich’s work part reminded me about caring bridge and I realized I hadn’t posted in a bit. Rich had blood work about 2 weeks ago, all looked as normal as usual for him. He still struggles a bit with energy, and has some edema you can’t really see, buts it’s in his shoulder and knees, and it causes stiffness and mobility issues, slight GVHD it would seem, but not enough to be on steroids, which is good, because he absolutely hated how puffy those made him, and the other side effects were terrible.
We sometimes forget what a walking miracle he is until we are reminded, and we have been reminded a few times lately. Someone so sweetly said to me that whenever she sees Rich walk by at work, she thanks God that he’s there. I want to get back to thanking God every day for him, I think I do, but I think I forget what God really did here in our lives not just this time, but several times. As many of you know, rich has dealt with cancer before. Yes this time being the most serious and harder to fight cancer, but nevertheless, cancer. We pray that he continues to be a walking miracle that never has to face that again!!! Our year has been full of ups and downs as mentioned previously, our daughter moved to Japan, but luckily she does love it there, not that she doesn’t wish she was here with her family. My mother passed away in August.
Both Zoee and Madalyn got married. Alyx started a new job, we couldn’t be more proud of her. She’s such such an amazing young woman. We are just so so blessed by this family that God has given to us, kicking out wonderful son in laws, and I just don’t want to ever forget how blessed we are. I’m thankful for the sweet people in our lives that help us remember that, when we can get so easily sidetracked.
Love and Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
He is the one you praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.
