Journal entry by Jessica Chinn

It’s been 10 weeks since Richard’s transplant and almost 2 months since he’s been back home. His mood, appetite and daily activity has increased.  Most importantly he feels better.  He will be getting his first covid vaccine since his reset. More vaccines in the months ahead. He had his first followup with his doctor last week and received a good report on his recent pet scan and bone marrow biopsy.

In the past few weeks he was able to see family and friends, go on a quick getaway to the mountains with the kids, use his smoker and grill which he got for Christmas, and do more things with our kids without tiring out too quickly. Staying home has made him feel more restless and he’s already thinking about returning to work. It’s great seeing him laugh and smile more. Our family was not the same when he was away.  Feeling grateful.
