Rhet Edward Tucker passed away at Mass General Hospital surrounded by family on June 23rd after fighting a courageous battle with liver disease.  He was 33.

Rhet was born on May 28th, 1988 to parents Robert and Bette Tucker (Goodreau) in Manchester where he was raised.  He attended Howell Cheney Technical High School and graduated in 2006 with a background in HVAC.  After high school, he worked on his HVAC apprenticeship before deciding to change gears.  As Rhet was a jack of many trades, he then became a meat cutter for Whole Foods before moving to EA Patten as a receiving inspection clerk.  Soon after leaving EA Patten, Rhet joined the Kloter Farms family in Ellington, CT.  During his 5 years at Kloter’s, he was an escort driver, warehouse clerk, and delivery driver for both fine and outdoor furniture.  Kloter Farms was by far his favorite position and if you talked with him you knew he was a walking salesman for them.

In his free time, you could find him out on his boat with family and friends looking for the biggest fish he could catch.  He also loved buying and showcasing sneakers and surprising us all with his crazy haircuts.  He loved Christmas time and participating in the Ellington Torch Light parade where he decorated the Kloter’s trucks.  In the fall of 2019, he adopted a cat named Paw Paws whom he loved more than anything.  She kept him smiling and laughing with her antics and helped him get through COVID when he had to be the most careful.   Most recently he enjoyed spending lazy Sunday’s playing with his new niece Raelyn.

Rhet was a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend and he would do anything for any of them.  If you were a part of his circle, you were part of his family.  He had a smile and personality that would light up any room.  Most importantly though, Rhet had a positive attitude even when put in a tough situation.  He truly was a survivor and coped well with all difficulties in his life.  He truly fought till the very end.

Rhet is survived by his furbaby Paw Paws, Father, Robert A Tucker and girlfriend Diane Richard of Broad Brook, sister Jessica Unruh, husband Ben, Niece Raelyn, Dog Nephew Diesel, and Uncle, Ed Goodreau of Santa Monica, CA.  He is predeceased by his mother Bette Tucker and grandfather Robert R. Tucker.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 14th at his sister Jessica’s home.  The event will start at 4 pm with readings at 5:30 pm followed by food & festivities to celebrate Rhet's life as he lived it.  You can visit social media or his CaringBridge site: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/rhettucker
