Journal

Hello to all,
It has been awhile since we have written with good cause.  Renee was very busy and efficient!  She had set up her computer calendar to remind us of those seasonal chores that are done every so often - are you surprised?

We also have been preparing for the memorial.  Just as a reminder, Rancho Community Church will be streaming the service on their YouTube channel, YouTube/ranchounited, on October 3, 2020. The time to be announced later as the day approaches.  Emilee and Ella are making the slideshow and program for the service and Joanna is doing everything else.  Just like her daughter.

Renee requested to be cremated.  After several days of staring at a box with her remains, the girls and I wanted to do something more special with them.  We did research on the internet and found some creative ideas such as shooting the ashes in a rocket into space, putting them in fireworks and lighting them (not a good time for that in California.) Then we found the right one.

So on September 9, what would have been our 25 year anniversary of us meeting, I took her ashes to L.A. to have them made into 2 diamonds. One for each of the girls. We had a choice of several tints but a blue tint suited Renee best.  The process takes 6 weeks to 3 months which would line up to be picked up around the third week of December.  Renee's birthday is the 22nd of December. These will be real diamonds that will become heirlooms for the girls to pass down along with lots of good memories.

One more thing I have been working on.  Renee really enjoyed working at CARERITE from January through May 2019.  One of the assignments she found for her clients from CARERITE was volunteering at Jacob's House.

Jacob's House is a refuge for family members of a hospitalized loved one. The refuge is available to the family at no cost and for as long as their loved one is hospitalized.  It is the only service of its kind in the Temecula Valley.  As I talked to the operation manager and the volunteer coordinator, they remembered Renee and her clients well and spoke fondly of them.

In lieu of flowers, donate to Jacob's House in Renee's name.  You can support them with "in kind" donations too.  I just learned what that means.  Household items such as tissues, cleaning supplies and such.
