Journal

This afternoon, Remi and Sterling head back to St. Jude for Remi’s first scan after treatment. His MRI is scheduled for tomorrow, March 4th
For now, he has scans about every 3 months.

I’ve anticipated March 4th for a few weeks now. They say “scanxiety” can hit people pretty hard.

However, the Lord has been so sweet to send people and community my way and all I feel in these moments leading up to tomorrow is peace.
Peace that tomorrow will just be another day.

I was praying over Rem last night before bed and God reminded me of the night before I ever took him to the ER. Remi had had a headache for 8 days. That night I was desperate for my child to feel better and God said “Vanessa, I’m healing him.” Then our life changed. That didn’t look like healing at first. But over the course of 5 months, he was being healed through prayer, doctors, and medicine.
And again last night the Lord said to me, “Vanessa, I have healed him.”
I’m thankful for that sweet and tender voice that stops me in my fears.

All I can do tomorrow is pray thanksgiving for what God has done and is continuing to do in Remi’s life. He loves Remi more than we do. And he is a good God in every circumstance no matter the outcome.

I think about Jonah in the belly of the whale thanking God for saving him. His circumstances weren’t great but he spent all of his efforts on thankfulness for what God had done.

Jonah 2 is such a powerful chapter. If you haven’t read it, I encourage you to.

Thank you for your prayers of safe travels and a clear scan!
