Can’t believe it’s been a month since the last update. Reid has been working extremely hard in therapy and continues to attend three times a week at Advanced Neurological Rehabilitation in Chandler, AZ. Therapy consists of physical, occupational, and speech as he builds on each element in his recovery plan.

With the recommendation and referral from UNLV’s Medical Center Chief Trauma physician Dr.Obert, Reid was able to secure an appointment with a doctor who specializes in spinal injuries. On Friday, February 10th, Reid and Courtney made their way back to Las Vegas to see the specialist. After 10 long weeks, Reid received the best news, his neck has healed with no sign of any ongoing spinal issues. But even better, he no longer is required to wear the neck collar, what a happy Cowboy!

With the neck brace off Reid is able to move freely and is slowly getting back into the grove the cowboy way of life. Yesterday out of corner of Courtney’s eye, she watched Reid pick up a rope and give it a swing. Despite being rusty and out of time, she could see his talent and determination shine through.

The next phase in his recovery is to be cleared from a neurological standpoint. Reid told us he has some work to do in his recovery, he is not where he wants to be. That is where attending therapy on a consistent basis pays off.

Reid and Courtney and the kids are still in Arizona staying with his in-laws. They are loving the warmer weather and at this point in his rehab, it’s the best place for them. Pushing the stroller, walking in the arena, running the roping chute and coaching up Courtney and Tinsley as they ride horse is a normal day for him.

Our families look forward to texting, FaceTime and phone calls to keep us connected when we are not together.

We want to thank you for the continued prayers, positive thoughts and never ending love you’ve shown to Reid and our families.
