Journal

This is to be the final entry in the Caring Bridge journal. We are now nearly 14 weeks after Kim’s surgery for her acoustic neuroma. In that time, her recovery has proceeded largely well, with some to and fro, as is the nature of recovery. Kim’s significant determination has enabled her to make real strides in her recovery. Though still troubled by vertigo, double vision, and headaches, and feeling that she is unable to safely drive yet, Kim has been able to return to her remarkable talents in the kitchen and most other household tasks, and increasingly longer walks. She is fully back to her part-time schedule of leading services at Kehilat Shalom (by Zoom) from home.

Kim is scheduled to begin work with a vestibular therapist next week. We hope this will help accelerate her progress.

All of us, especially Kim, have been SO GRATEFUL for your support through Caring Bridge. Your comments and “heart-likes“ have truly fortified our spirits, with the sense of a community surrounding us with love, prayers, and encouragement.

Kim invites all who wish to continue touching base with her to do so by phone, email, or text. If there are any further developments worth sharing with the community, we will do so via Facebook.

Forward is where we are headed.

Kim, Ilan, and Mark look towards the day when we can thank you and hug you, safely, in person. We are confident that day will eventually come.

With our love and gratitude,

Kim, Mark, and Ilan
