My posts are getting further and further apart, which I know is a good thing - it just doesn't seem right.  Healing is a process that has no end date.

At the beginning of March, I met with one of my neuro-specialists regarding vascular studies and an MRI. Despite me being in a lot of pain during the MRI, it was negative. I was not in pain because of the "buy one IV, get two free" deal they were running that day but because of the position of my arms and not being able to move them for an hour.  At one point, they had to check my finger monitor because I don't think they were getting a pulse off of it. That is not uncommon when my hands are above my head.  My vascular studies were positive for arterial occlusion (partial blockage of blood flow)
bilaterally at 180 degrees.

At this point, they ordered bilateral anterior scalene injections as well as occupational therapy.  The past 7 weeks, I have been trying to get this procedure scheduled ASAP as I have been struggling with this for over 9 months.  Between three hospitals, they were all very similar and backed up.  I am currently scheduled to travel back to UW Health - Madison on May 21 for this procedure.  In the meantime, I am going back to therapy at Gundersen for which seems like the 1,000 time.  I get to add another new therapist to my team.  I have gotten some REALLY good therapists, so hopefully this one will be good too.

On a side note, Andrew and I finally took our regularly scheduled HONEYMOON to New Zealand this past Jan/Feb. We had originally finalized this trip the week of the accident, so it quickly came crashing down.
We only postponed it 1 year, and it was worth the wait!  Two weeks of thier summer in our dead of winter. It was perfect.

I'm finally at the point of living with my 'issues' as my new normal. It doesn't stop me from doing anything I've always wanted to do.

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE!
