Journal entry by Graham Ashcraft —
Hi, all.
Our hearts are full with the amount of love, in the form of candles, being sent to Ann. Thank you to those who have sent candles and cards. It's a highlight of each day to check the mail and see what goodies have arrived. Just today Ann received four candles and twelve cards! (See the picture for all the candles!)
Ann started her chemotherapy treatment last week and overall, the side effects have been minimal. Her first day on the trial drug (Tuesday) she experienced more intense side effects, so the protocol has been to lower her dosage and gradually try to build up to the starting dose. Since lowering the dosage, the side effects have been very minimal. She will remain on a lower dose of the trial drug for a couple of weeks before upping the dosage. On Wednesday, Ann received the standard of care treatment and experienced next to zero side effects. How wonderful! We pray things continue in this way.
Thank you all again for the continued prayers. Our hearts remain heavy, but are buoyed with hope by your love and the love of God.
With love,
The Ashcrafts
