Journal

Almost a month into my new treatment, and I think things are going well. Won’t know for sure until we get some scans done, but symptoms seem to be lessening! Here are some praises:

- Breathing is getting better. I’m still on oxygen, but I’m no longer coughing things up.
- Strength is coming back slowly! I can go up and down stairs without having to heavily rely on the railing, and I’m able to lift things a bit better. My core is finally getting stronger, so bending and reaching and mobility is getting easier. I believe this is largely due to getting a Rebounder/Mini trampoline. If you don’t know about these, seriously look them up with their health benefits. I’m not sure if I’ve seen an easier tool with the most results (for health) and the best benefits.
- The diet is still extremely challenging as it takes a while for the mind to shift from decades of bad eating habits, but with Kaitlyn’s help, it’s getting to be somewhat tolerable.
- Kaitlyn’s family’s church Shiloh has been such a blessing to us, and we both started their Shiloh School program, which is basically a yearly in-depth discipleship program that focuses on intimacy with God and studying the Word and Outreach. Being here for the duration of my treatment allows us to take advantage of being a part of this program :)
- Weight loss, lol. I weighed 309lbs at my heaviest just a couple years ago, and I’ve hovered around 270 since high school. I’m down to 210lbs as of last week, and it does feel pretty good.
- Generosity from friends, family, and strangers. You know who you are. We are so grateful.

Yes, there have been a lot of challenges and hard moments lately, but I wanted to pause and reflect and share some of the good things that the Lord has done. Love you all.

-Ray, Kaitlyn, and Kindley
