As some of you know, we have had a set back in Ray's recovery.
Ray went to the emergency room at Physicians regional on Saturday evening with chest pains, and a "hot" incision only to discover, after a cat scan, that the MRSA infection had spread to the bone. This was his surgeon's worst case scenario, (and relief) when he had seen him almost a month ago with the infection just on the incision. Ray was transferred at 2AM last night from Physicians regional back to Cleveland clinic where they have him on heavy antibiotics, hoping to not have to perform surgery to scrape the bone of the infection.
Doctor Zeeshan is currently going with the "wait and see" approach and told ray if surgery happens, it will be a small incision, and assured him that the sternum bone is quite strong, so he should do fine. Our focus is getting him well and doing whatever is necessary to get rid of the MRSA so that he can properly heal.
Please keep Ray in your thoughts as we continue to navigate through this next phase of post-surgical treatment. We will keep you all informed as we know if and when he will go for surgery.
